Fernanda joined RCKT. as a PR intern in March 2015. The São Paulo native had been living in Berlin for almost a year before coming aboard and is known to quite picky about her work space. So who better to kick off #RCKTworkessentials, a new Monday feature for us, where we’ll take a look at the desk of a RCKT. employee to gain a bit more insight into what helps spur their creativity.

Here are three items that Fernanda feels are absolutely essential for her workday.

1) Headphones (Bose QC15)

To focus at your work in a startup environment (meaning loud people) you definitely need a good noise-cancelling headphone. It’s also a great excuse to pretend you’re not listening when someone asks you to help building a table for the new intern.

2) Stationary

I make a lot of notes. Don’t tell anyone, but instead of using Trello I prefer to write down my priorities for the day and lose important telephone numbers among the mess. (I promise in the end I always find everything). The rubber stamps I got at Casey Rubber Stamps, a tiny shop in the East Village in NYC. I think they’re cute and useful to write nice letters when Internet is off and we need to use the post instead.

Maybe it all looks too hipster and precious. And perhaps I’d care more, if I wasn’t too busy drinking my flat white.

3) Beauty Products

I have the habit of transforming the office into an extension of my home. During winter I find my chair holding a couple of sweaters and jackets. That seems to extend to beauty products – who knows which lipstick color will motivate me to write press releases today? Oh, the placenta mask… I got it from a friend that was in Thailand who knows I have loads of fun with face masks. The ingredients have nothing to do with body parts and apparently it’s just a really good Korean mask. I don’t intend to try it out at the office, though…
