Enrico Hahne is our branding maestro at RCKT. Communications, which means he understands a good story and how to tell it. So it’s no surprise that he’s a voracious consumer of media. Knowing this, we asked him to recommend what he reads to stay informed and get inspired, and it was interesting to see tastes that run from the trade mags to Kafka.

Betrachtung (English – Contemplation), Franz Kafka

Betrachtung by Franz Kafka is actually his very first published book. My family has roots in Prague, so that means Kafka has always been around when it comes to literature. In the book are 18 short stories about sociability, interpersonal relations and businessman problems. A bit dark but still a way to dive deeply into a story. I would recommend a good glass of red wine and a slightly dark room while you read it.

brand eins

I’ve been into business topics for years. But often it’s not the monetisation that’s interesting to me, but rather the story behind. brand eins is a monthly German magazine that is always based on one big topic. Past issues have delved into themes like Love and Art to Work and Money. To me this is journalism at its best.

Intersection

Cars, Cars, Cars. And design. This is what I am passionate about. I think the overall topic of mobility is what drives me. To me Intersection found the perfect way between simple editorial entertainment, information and pictures. One eye on design, another on future mobility. You should read articles about Audi’s vision on urban future mobility, the design history of Volvo or the Aston Martin Bulldog.

iPhone 4 + iPhone 5

One private and one business. On my iPhone 4 I read horizont.net, wuv.de, among others. My iPhone 5 is for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the weekly Sanft & Sorgfältig podcast by Olli Schulz und Jan Böhmermann.
